Andrea Ippolito currently serves as the CEO and Founder of SimpliFed. Prior to joining SimpliFed, Andrea served as the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs surrounding Electronic Health Record Modernization and Director of the Department of the VA Innovators Network. She was also the Co-Founder of an innovative application that improves access to care called Smart Scheduling (acquired by athenahealth in 2016). She also previously served as the Co-Director of MIT Hacking Medicine, as an Innovation Specialist at the Brigham Innovation Hub and Product Innovation Manager at athenahealth.
Q: What motivates you to continue working towards change each day?
A: The postpartum health experience across the country is currently constructed in a way where moms fall through the cracks and are suffering in silence. With SimpliFed's pathway, we are proactively reaching them so no parent is left behind.
Q: What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of from 2023?
A: The SimpliFed team has developed a maternal health operating system that allows healthcare systems to stand-up a baby feeding speciality service line, fully covered by commercial and Medicaid insurance across the country at no cost to families.
