Colby Takeda is the co-founder and CEO of Pear Suite, a digital health company working to address social determinants of health by empowering community health workers. Colby is a former senior care executive and previously led policy and partnerships for the Blue Zones Project. Passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare leaders, Colby teaches courses for both community health workers and public health students. Outside of building simple, yet powerful, software for community health workers, Colby finds joy in curiosity, creativity, community, and coffee.
Q: What motivates you to continue working towards change each day?
A: I love meeting community health workers and other frontline public health workers, hearing about their unique backgrounds and skills, and finding creative ways to empower them with our software—they truly are healthcare heroes!
Q: What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of from 2023?
A: I'm extremely proud of the entire Pear Suite team for scaling from 5 employees to 35 in less than a year and helping to create impact for over 30,000 individuals across 20 states.
